Warmer Than Normal

"Temperatures were quite high in Fairbanks this March as the average for the month of 19.6 degrees F was 8.5 degrees F warmer than normal. On 4 days, the high of 43 degrees F was reached, the 6th, 10th, 11th, and 25th. The low for the month of -11 degrees F was reported on the 5th. The daily high temperature was above freezing on 19 days during the month. Precipitation was 0.27 inch, just a few percent below normal for March, one of the driest months of the year. Snowfall totaled 5.2 inches, right at normal, and included a late-March snowfall of 2.1 inches on the 29th, which was a record for that date. Two feet of snow was on the ground at the airport by month's end." Quoted from the Alaska Climate Research Center.
